Nashville PredatorsDenver, Co — The Nashville Predators advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a convincing win over the pesky Colorado Avalanche, 5-0.  The victory sets up a premier showdown with the Winnipeg Jets, who experts are calling the series to watch.

Nashville came out storming against the Avs early and often in this game.  Mattias Ekholm lit the lamp first for the Predators at 7:02 of the first period when his snapshot beat Andrew Hammond for the early 1-0 lead.

Austin Watson made it 2-0 at 10:19 of the first with a wicked wrister after an assist from Colton Sissons and Nick Bonino.  The line of Watson, Sissons and Bonino was the highlight of the lineup in this game tonight.

Nashville PredatorsDenver, Co — The Nashville Predators took care of business in the mile high city tonight with a clutch comeback victory over the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2.  That sends the series back to Nashville where the Predators can clinch the series with a win.

Horrible officiating dominated this contest tonight, putting Nashville in several penalty situations that didn’t appear to be called against the Avs, frustrating both players and coaches on the Nashville bench.

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators will take flight to the high altitudes of Colorado with a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Colorado Avalanche in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, winning today, 5-4.

The Predators scored by committee as five different players hit the scoreboard, but they still had to come from behind for the victory.

Colorado struck first, as they did in game one, when former Predator Gabriel Bourque found the back of the Nashville net just 2:34 into the game and Colorado took the early lead, 1-0.

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators overcame a sluggish first period against the Colorado Avalanche, but kicked in the afterburners midway through the second period to defeat the Avs, 5-2 at Bridgestone Arena.

In game one of their opening round Stanley Cup series, Nashville knew that Colorado was fast and talented, but as all teams try to do against Nashville, a quick start and a quick strike is what they aim for.

        But Nashville has Filip Forsberg.

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators continue to make history as the Central Division/Western Conference regular season champions ended their season with a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-2.  In front of their 102nd sell out Bridgestone Arena crowd, the boys didn’t disappoint.

Each fan who attended the game was given a Predators visor, and after Filip Forsberg recorded his hat trick, the ice was filled with visors.  Preds radio announcer Pete Weber called it a “visor” trick, instead of the hat trick as it’s known.

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, Tn — The Nashville Predators thought they had tied their game with the Florida Panthers tonight, with .05 seconds remaining, when after a video review from Toronto, it was determined that they were guilty of goaltender interference, and the game tying goal from Filip Forsberg was waved off.

Controversy ensued.  It was a HORRIBLE call by the NHL.

The Predators had the opportunity to clinch the Central Division of the Western Conference with a three point lead over the Winnipeg Jets who were victorious over the Montreal Canadiens.
