Nashville PredatorsDallas, TX– The Nashville Predators defeated the Dallas Stars in a highly entertaining game tonight 5-3.  Pekka Rinne stood tall in net for the Predators to keep Nashville in this one, giving the boys a chance to win it.

The Predators win the season series against the Stars with the win tonight, in what many feel will be a first round matchup for the Stanley Cup playoffs.  The two teams have already been announced as the feature of the Winter Classic.

Brian Boyle continues to show why the Predators made a trade for him just a couple of weeks ago as he lit the lamp first for the Predators at 10:50 of the opening frame.  It was Boyle’s second goal for the Predators since joining the team and got Nashville the early lead, 1-0.

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators finally righted the ship with a 3-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens tonight at Bridgestone Arena.

Newly acquired big man Brian Boyle scored his first goal as a Predator and Viktor Arvidsson added to his torrid scoring streak for the victory.

Arvidsson scored his 24th goal of the season tonight, a remarkable feat considering he was injured and didn’t return to the lineup until New Years Eve. Nashville wrapped up a three game home stand and snapped a three game losing streak tonight with the win.

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators can’t seem to find a way to win games lately, falling tonight to the visiting Detroit Red Wings, 3-2.

This is the third consecutive loss for the home boys, and Detroit comes away with a sweep of the two game series.

It wasn’t from lack of effort, which coach Peter Laviolette is pleased with, they just can’t seem to catch a break or get the puck to bounce in their favor.

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators dropped their second game in a row at home to the Florida Panthers tonight, 4-2.

The Predators had fought back from a three goal deficit to draw to within a goal, but Jared McCann closed the door with his tip-in at 11:38 of the final frame.

Aaron Ekblad started the scoring at 4:05 of the first period, burying the one timer on the power play to beat Juuse Saros in goal for the 1-0 lead.  Ekblad has now scored the most goals by a defenseman in Panthers history.

The 21 year old took center stage while an old nemesis in net, Petr Mrazek, stonewalled the Predators for the win.  Mrazek has beaten the Predators 7 times dating back to his days with the Detroit Red WIngs.

Aho put the ‘Canes on the board at 15:44 of the first period when he took the puck in the neutral zone and beat Pekka Rinne through the five-hole for the early 1-0 lead.

Nashville PredatorsChicago, Ill– The Nashville Predators almost let this slip away in Chicago tonight, but Filip Forsberg saved the day with his overtime winner to defeat the Chicago Blackhawks, 4-3.

Nashville had led the entire game and looked poised to win the game when Artem Anisimov sent the game to overtime with the goal at 17:39 of the third period.

Pekka Rinne was superb in net, as always, keeping the Predators in the game, stopping 34 of 37 shots on goal.  The Predators had 31 shots on goal on the night.

Nashville PredatorsToronto, Ontario, Can– The Nashville Predators continue to roll on this ambitious road trip, defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs, 4-0.  That gives the Predators five out of a possible six points in their last three games.

Nashville used a stiff defense tonight and a brick wall in net, Pekka Rinne, to thwart the Leafs.

After a scoreless first period, Mattias Ekholm got the Predators on the board at 4:08 of the second period, hammering a slap shot from the point and the power play goal gave Nashville the 1-0 lead.  Craig Smith and Kevin Fiala had the assists.  Fiala has 7 points in his last six games.

Nashville PredatorsMontreal Quebec, Can– The Nashville Predators rebounded from last night’s loss to Detroit, winning the back end of a “back-to-back” series, beating the Montreal Canadiens 4-1.

Craig Smith scored twice and Juuse Saros was stellar in goal for the win.  Nashville was playing their old captain Shea Weber who scored the only Montreal goal.

Smith got the scoring started for the Predators at 10:44 of the first period, finding a rebound in front of the Montreal net and slipping the puck into the net past Carey Price for the 1-0 lead.

Nashville PredatorsDetroit, MI– The Nashville Predators lost the first game of a six game road trip tonight to the Detroit Red Wings, 4-3 in overtime.

Detroit played a very aggressive game tonight while the Predators put on a lazy performance, leaning on their All-Star goaltender Pekka Rinne for most of the night.

The Red Wings dominated the first ten minutes of the game while Nashville had no shots on goal, but because of Rinne, they remained in the contest.  Oddly enough, it was Nashville that took the early lead in tonight’s contest.

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The struggling Nashville Predators just can’t seem to find a way to win, falling tonight to the visiting New York Rangers, 4-3.

It was a back and forth affair with both teams trading punches and the lead throughout the game, but in the end, the Rangers, and their premier goalie, Henrik Lundqvist, leave Nashville with the win.

Mika Zibanejad started the scoring for New York at 2:42 of the opening frame on a tip in that beat Pekka Rinne for the early 1-0 lead.
