        Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison announced, Tuesday, May 7th, that tennis head coach Ross Brown has been given a contract extension. Brown is fresh off an appearance in the NCAA Tournament after Ohio Valley Conference regular season and tournament championships in women’s tennis.

        The women’s tennis team entered the NCAA Tournament with a 22-0 record – the only undefeated program in the nation heading into the weekend.

        Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsLouisville, KY – The Tennessee Vols impressive season came to an end Thursday night, falling in the Sweet Sixteen to Purdue in overtime, 99-94, at the KFC Yum! Center.
         
        After facing an 18-point deficit at the 16:19 mark and with all the momentum in Purdue’s favor, the Vols stormed back with a 19-2 run to take their first lead since opening minutes of the game. A deep 3-pointer from Schofield to make it a 70-67 game capped the run.
         
        With five minutes left in regulation, both teams were knotted at 70-70.

        UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee Director of Athletics Phillip Fulmer announced Wednesday that Lady Vols basketball coach Holly Warlick has been relieved of her duties.

        “Holly and I met this afternoon, and I informed her of the decision to change leadership within the program,” Fulmer said. “Holly has dedicated most of her adult life to the University of Tennessee and the Lady Vols program. She loves Tennessee, and Tennessee needs to always love her back. She was front and center as this program developed into the model for women’s intercollegiate excellence.

        Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsLouisville, KY – With a bid for the Elite Eight at stake, the No. 2-seeded Tennessee Vols are prepared to face No. 3 seed Purdue in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament at KFC Yum! Center in the South Region on Thursday. The game tips at 6:29pm CT and will be televised live on TBS.

        Tennessee is competing in its eighth Sweet Sixteen all time and sixth since 2000. The Vols are 31-5 this season. That impressive record also includes a school-record 19-game winning streak, a program-record-tying three victories over top-five opponents and ties the most victories in a single season in program history.

        Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – If you’re looking for the last time the Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s tennis team lost a head-to-head match you’ll have to look back to last season, as the Governors remained undefeated after their Ohio Valley Conference-opening victory over Tennessee State this past Saturday.

        The Govs are 13-0 so far this season, with their last loss coming in the finals of the OVC Tennis Championships at April 22nd to Eastern Kentucky by a narrow 4-3 final and a berth into the NCAA Tournament.
