        High School Basketball Recap for Clarksville - Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – The local high school basketball season came to a close last Friday. Regular season champions were crowned and the seeds for the first post season tournaments were set. The District 10-AAA girls basketball teams experienced déjà vu as the Rossview Lady Hawks repeated as the regular season champions.

        The Lady Hawks (18-7) controlled their own fate last week and got the wins necessary to capture another regular season championship.

        High School Basketball Recap for Clarksville - Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – After last weeks results one local high school girls basketball team leads District 10-AAA by a game and has a slight advantage to repeat as the regular season champion with only two district games left in the regular season.

        Rossview Lady Hawks are at the top of District 10-AAA, one game ahead of Clarksville High and two games above Henry County.

        High School Basketball Recap for Clarksville - Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – Only four district games remain on the local high school girls basketball schedules. Just four chances to win, grab the regular season championship and improve their rank for the post season tournaments.

        Some teams picked up some momentum going into the final games with wins last week. For others weaknesses and errors have appeared, resulting in losses when they cannot afford them.

        High School Basketball Recap for Clarksville - Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – The countdown to the end of the high school basketball regular season continues. Less than 20 days remain until a regular season champion is crowned and the district tournament begins. The race has only gotten tighter since the second half of the season began.

        Only two games separate the four top ranked District 10-AAA girls basketball teams with six or seven games left in the regular season. As of Sunday, January 18th, two teams are tied at the top of the district and they will face each other in a pivotal game Tuesday, January 20th.

        Kenwood High SchoolServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – The Kenwood Lady Knights (5-14) did not have an answer to the Henry County Lady Patriots (13-8) post game Friday night at Kenwood High School. The Lady Patriots used their superior size inside to dominate the Lady Knights, 66-32.

        It was a long night for the Lady Knights. In addition to being fed a steady, unstoppable diet in the post, they watched open shots uncharacteristically roll off the rim throughout the game.

        Lady Hawks Smother The Lady Knights, 57-31

        Rossview High School HawksServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – After a slow start, the Rossview Lady Hawks (11-4, 6-0) defense clamped down on the Kenwood Lady Knights (5-12, 2-4) at Kenwood High School and ended their week with a 57-31 victory.

        This was the Lady Hawks third win in the last four games. They are undefeated in district play. The Lady Knights were held to a season low in points. Although, it took more than a quarter for the Lady Hawks defense to settle in.

        “We usually are a fast starting team. I don’t know what was wrong with us tonight. We just weren’t locked in defensively like we normally are to start the game,” Rossview Lady Hawks head coach Justin Woods said.

        High School Basketball Recap for Clarksville - Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – The new year marks the midpoint of the local high school basketball season. After playing in tournaments over the holiday school break, teams buckle down to play in their districts for the second half of their season.

        At this point, teams know their strengths and weaknesses. This time of year coaches preach about focus and execution, and pray their players stay healthy. The countdown to district tournaments continues and the hopes for the regular season championship dwindle with every loss.

        Lady Knights Slay The Lady Vikings, 61-45, For Second District 10-AAA Win

        Servall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – The Kenwood Lady Knights (5-11, 2-3) ended a five-game losing streak by defeating the Northwest Lady Vikings (1-13, 0-5) at home, 61-45, Tuesday night. It was the Lady Knights second district win of the season.

        Nine first half turnovers compounded early Lady Vikings offensive struggles. The Lady Knights scored more points in the first quarter than the Lady Vikings scored in the whole first half. Down by 17 at halftime, 34-17, the Lady Vikings stayed behind the Lady Knights by double-digit points the rest of the game.

        While the Lady Vikings struggled to score, practically everyone on the Lady Knights scored in the game. Analiese Osborne led 11 Lady Knights scorers with 12 points. Katie Robards scored 10 points. Jasmine Johnson added nine points and six assists.

        High School Basketball Recap for Clarksville - Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – District competition continued to heat up in week 5 of the girls high school basketball season. Only one game separates the top four teams in District 10-AAA, with two teams yet to lose a district game.

        However, the top four are thriving at the expense of the bottom four. At the bottom half of the race, two teams have won only won game and two have yet to capture their first district win.

        Lady Knights Defense Smothers Ft. Campbell Lady Falcons, 68-31

        Clarksville, TN – The Kenwood Lady Knights (4-6) broke a two-game losing streak at home by defeating the Ft. Campbell Lady Falcons, 68-31, Tuesday night. The Lady Knights full court defense overwhelmed the Lady Falcons, generating over 40 turnovers. The traps and steals led to easy points for the Lady Knights and a long night for the Lady Falcons’ offense.

        The Lady Knights opened the game executing well on both sides of the ball and their confidence grew as the game progressed. Mikaela Smith made back-to-back baskets in the paint that began a Lady Knights 7-2 run to start the game. The lead expanded to 22-10 by the end of the first period thanks to 14 Lady Falcons turnovers.
