Clarksville, TN – Two more Austin Peay State University (APSU) spring sports teams head to their respective OVC Championships this week, with softball heading to Choccolocco Park in Oxford, AL, May 8th-11th and track & field heading to Abe Stuber Track Complex in Cape Girardeau, MO, May 9th-11th looking to add to the Women’s OVC Tennis Championship title.

Clarksville, TN – For the second time in five days, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team will face the team atop the Ohio Valley Conference standings, as it hosts Murray State, 4:00pm, Tuesday, April 9th at Cheryl Holt Field at Cathi Maynard Park, in not only a key OVC showdown but a Heritage Bank Battle of the Border doubleheader.

Clarksville, TN – If you’re a fan of Austin Peay State University (APSU) athletics, especially the spring-sport variety, this is your week, with all Governors spring sports having critical games or events this week – most of which will come on campus.
Softball, baseball, beach volleyball and track and field all have home events this week, while men’s golf and both the men’s and women’s tennis teams have key road trials, they must face over the next seven days.

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) softball team will open the home part of its 2019 regular-season schedule, 2:00pm Sunday, March 10th at Joe and Cathi Maynard Stadium-Cheryl Holt Field as they play host to North Alabama in a doubleheader.

Nashville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team continues to add to its record-setting road win total by sweeping Belmont, Saturday at E.S. Rose Park, by finals of 1-0 (in eight innings) and 7-2.
The Govs (27-15, 10-4 OVC) now have 14 true road wins this season, the most by any Ohio Valley Conference school this spring, and four more than in any other season in the program’s history.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team will host UT Martin, 1:00pm, Sunday at Cheryl Holt Field, to wrap-up its Ohio Valley Conference home weekend.
The Govs enter the matchup versus the Skyhawks with a 22-11 overall record, including a 6-2 mark in OVC play, after splitting a doubleheader with Southeast Missouri on Friday, while Tennessee Martin has authored a 17-20 record, including a 2-4 record in OVC play after dropping a pair of games to SIU Edwardsville on March 30th.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team will open its longest homestand of the season versus Southeast Missouri, noon, Friday, at Cheryl Holt Field, as the Govs return to Ohio Valley Conference play after a couple of mid-week non-conference games.
The Govs enter the matchup versus the Redhawks with a 21-10 overall record, including a 5-1 OVC mark, after edging Tennessee Chattanooga, 1-0, on the road, Wednesday, while SEMO stands at 19-11 and 3-1 in OVC play — before a single game at Southern Illinois, Thursday.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team is off to an historic start to its Ohio Valley Conference schedule and with that fuels hopes that its 11-year postseason drought could be coming to an end.
After sweeping OVC rival Tennessee Tech this past Friday at Cheryl Holt Field, the Govs saw their record improved to 20-9 overall this spring, but more importantly 5-1 in OVC play – the program’s best start since the OVC started sponsoring softball as a conference championship sport in 1994 and besting the former starts of 4-2 set by the 1997 and 2007 teams.
