Nashville, TN - The Vanderbilt men’s basketball team will take on Texas in Austin on December 2nd in the inaugural Big 12/SEC Challenge, a men’s basketball inter-conference event that will begin during the 2013-14 season.

Lexington, KY - The University of Kentucky has released it’s 2013-14 non-conference schedule that according to the University’s website fits perfectly with coach John Calipari’s priorities.
Kentucky will take part in the State Farm Champions Classic where they will play Michigan State on November 12th in Chicago. UK will then return home for four straight home games as part of the Keightley Classic that begins November 17th with Robert Morris.

Birmingham, Ala - The Southeastern Conference and ESPN have signed a 20-year agreement through 2034 to create and operate a multiplatform network, which will launch in August 2014, it was announced today by SEC Commissioner Mike Slive and ESPN President John Skipper. The new network and its accompanying digital platform will air SEC content 24/7 including more than 1,000 events in its first year.
The network will televise approximately 45 SEC football games, more than 100 men’s basketball games, 60 women’s basketball games, 75 baseball games, and events from across the SEC’s 21 sports annually. Programming will also include studio shows, original content such as SEC Storied, spring football games, signing day and pro days coverage. Hundreds of additional live events from various sports will be offered exclusively on the digital platform. Nashville, TN - Belmont University men’s basketball will face eight-time National Champion Kentucky Saturday, Dec. 21st, 2013, as UK confirmed Wednesday through release via its official twitter account.
The game will be played at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky. Start time and television will be announced at a later date.
“We are excited about the opportunity to play a historic program like Kentucky in a historic venue like Rupp Arena,” Belmont University men’s basketball head coach Rick Byrd said. “Our philosophy in non-conference scheduling is well-known; we look for chances to play outstanding competition and provide memorable experiences for our players. Lexington, KY – The Austin Peay State University baseball team has now lost three in a row, losing to Kentucky of the Southeastern Conference, 6-3, at Cliff Hagan Stadium. Kentucky freshman right-hander Kyle Cody worked into the sixth inning and eight of nine starters collected hits to lead the Wildcats past the Governors.

Lexington, KY – Willie Cauley-Stein and Kyle Wiltjer will return to the Kentucky men’s basketball program for the 2013-14 season, while Archie Goodwin will forego his sophomore season and enter his name in the 2013 NBA Draft, head coach John Calipari announced Monday.
“I’m excited that Willie and Kyle have decided to return for next season,” Calipari said. “When we talk about a players-first program, our goal is for each player to reach his dreams. Willie and Kyle believe it is in their best interest to return to Kentucky next season to achieve those dreams, and I fully support their decisions.
