The Royals Futbol Club has acquired land for a soccer practice facility and will have a groundbreaking ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday at 15441 Sale Road in Clarksville.
The Royals Futbol Club bought 47.78 acres that will comprise of three 360′ x 240′ fields, two 330′ x 210′ fields and four 240′ x 150′ fields. The new complex will also have restrooms, concessions building and about 479 parking spots.
The designs of the complex were made by Lobe & Associates.
“We’re excited about the ground breaking and to get those acres to help our club and to give our kids to opportunity to grow into really good soccer players,” Royals FC Director of Coaching Daniel Paschedag said. “And that’s what the club is for, to give kids every opportunity to become a good soccer player. We are very fortunate we are able to use the facilities at Rossview High School right now, but we have way too many kids for one field. In order to give them adequate space and our coaching staff the opportunity with the proper space and conditions to be able to work tactical parts of the game to become good soccer players. So it’s going to be a very, very good tool for and of course it will be a home for our players and a place where the club can be together. We had our 20th anniversary last year and on Dec. 2 we signed the papers for the land.”
