Knoxville, TN - Tennessee Head Women’s Basketball Coach Holly Warlick has announced that former Kentucky hoops standout Amber Smith will join the Lady Vol staff as a graduate assistant. Smith, who will begin on July 1st, replaces former graduate assistant Josh Baney, who transitions to the role of camp coordinator. Smith will assist the staff with on-campus recruiting and a variety of general office duties.

Clarksville, TN - Austin Peay State University women’s basketball head coach Carrie Daniels has turned to one of her former stomping grounds for the latest addition to the 2013-14 roster, signing April Rivers of Las Vegas to a letter of intent.
Daniels ties to the Las Vegas area originate from her two-year stint as an assistant at UNLV. Her discovery of Rivers also came with the benefit of rekindling a relationship with Bishop Gorman High School head coach Sheryl Krmpotich, who was an assistant coach at Austin Peay from 1992-96 – the final four years of Daniels’ collegiate career. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville, TN - Austin Peay State University women’s basketball head coach Carrie Daniels has announced that sophomore guards Shira Buley and Shelby Olszewski have left the program to pursue other opportunities.
Buley, of Knoxville, is expected to transfer following the end of the current academic semester. She played in 21 contests during the 2012-13 season, starting 11, and averaged 2.3 points and 1.4 assists per game. «Read the rest of this article»
