Nashville SoundsDES MOINES, Iowa – The Nashville Sounds used stellar pitching to extend their winning streak to five games with a 1-0 win over the Iowa Cubs at Principal Park Thursday night.

It took 10 innings to get the job done as the Sounds clinched their third straight series win after dropping the season-opening series in New Orleans.

Using baseball’s new pace of game rules, the top of the 10th began with pinch-runner Melvin Mercedes at third base in a 0-0 game. Mercedes moved to third on Slade Heathcott’s infield single. With runners at the corners, Anthony Garcia bounced into a 6-4 fielder’s choice to score Mercedes with the eventual winning run.

Nashville PredatorsDenver, Co — The Nashville Predators took care of business in the mile high city tonight with a clutch comeback victory over the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2.  That sends the series back to Nashville where the Predators can clinch the series with a win.

Horrible officiating dominated this contest tonight, putting Nashville in several penalty situations that didn’t appear to be called against the Avs, frustrating both players and coaches on the Nashville bench.

Nashville PredatorsDenver, CO — The Nashville Predators dug themselves into a deep hole early in this game and were unable to recover as the Colorado Avalanche cut the series lead down to 2-1 with a 5-3 victory tonight at the Pepsi Center.

Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne was pulled in the second period after the Avs scored four goals on fifteen shots to take a commanding lead.   Juuse Saros finished the game and held the Avs to one goal.

Colorado jumped all over the Predators from the start and combined with the slow start the Predators have been notorious for, it didn’t bode well for the Preds.

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators will take flight to the high altitudes of Colorado with a commanding 2-0 series lead over the Colorado Avalanche in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, winning today, 5-4.

The Predators scored by committee as five different players hit the scoreboard, but they still had to come from behind for the victory.

Nashville SoundsNASHVILLE – The Nashville Sounds’ offense did not live up to the Friday Fireworks mantra and were shutout by the Omaha Storm Chasers 5-0 in front of a sellout crowd of 10,481 at First Tennessee Park. It was the second time in the 2018 campaign the Sounds have been shutout.

Sounds starter Eric Jokisch cruised through the first three innings, allowing just two hits before Omaha broke through in the fourth inning. Hunter Dozier collected a one-out double and came around to score when Frank Schwindel squeaked a triple just fair inside the first base bag that trickled down into the right field corner. Schwindel was brought home on a sacrifice groundout by Ryan O’Hearn.

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators overcame a sluggish first period against the Colorado Avalanche, but kicked in the afterburners midway through the second period to defeat the Avs, 5-2 at Bridgestone Arena.

In game one of their opening round Stanley Cup series, Nashville knew that Colorado was fast and talented, but as all teams try to do against Nashville, a quick start and a quick strike is what they aim for.

        But Nashville has Filip Forsberg.

Nashville PredatorsNashville, Tn — The Nashville Predators continue to make history as the Central Division/Western Conference regular season champions ended their season with a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-2.  In front of their 102nd sell out Bridgestone Arena crowd, the boys didn’t disappoint.

Each fan who attended the game was given a Predators visor, and after Filip Forsberg recorded his hat trick, the ice was filled with visors.  Preds radio announcer Pete Weber called it a “visor” trick, instead of the hat trick as it’s known.

Nashville SoundsMetairie, LA – The Nashville Sounds fell to 1-1 as the offense went cold in a 5-1 loss to the New Orleans Baby Cakes Friday night at Shrine on Airline.

One night after putting up 11 runs on 16 hits, the Sounds managed just one run on seven hits and went 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.

Nashville was in a deficit from the beginning as starter Frankie Montas failed to make it out of the first inning. The right-hander recorded just two outs as the Baby Cakes sent 10 to the plate in the opening inning. Montas was charged with all four runs that scored as the Sounds trailed 4-0 after one.
