Nashville Sounds notch fifth shutout in fifth straight win
It took 10 innings to get the job done as the Sounds clinched their third straight series win after dropping the season-opening series in New Orleans. Using baseball’s new pace of game rules, the top of the 10th began with pinch-runner Melvin Mercedes at third base in a 0-0 game. Mercedes moved to third on Slade Heathcott’s infield single. Nashville Predators fall to Colorado Avalanche 5-3
Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne was pulled in the second period after the Avs scored four goals on fifteen shots to take a commanding lead. Juuse Saros finished the game and held the Avs to one goal. Sounds starter Eric Jokisch cruised through the first three innings, allowing just two hits before Omaha broke through in the fourth inning. Hunter Dozier collected a one-out double and came around to score when Frank Schwindel squeaked a triple just fair inside the first base bag that trickled down into the right field corner. Nashville Predators Viewing Parties begin Thursday
The City of Clarksville will host a free Predators viewing party for Game 1 against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center in Liberty Park. Nashville Predators end regular season with win over Columbus Blue Jackets 4-2
Each fan who attended the game was given a Predators visor, and after Filip Forsberg recorded his hat trick, the ice was filled with visors. Nashville Sounds offense goes quiet in loss to New Orleans
One night after putting up 11 runs on 16 hits, the Sounds managed just one run on seven hits and went 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position. Nashville was in a deficit from the beginning as starter Frankie Montas failed to make it out of the first inning. The right-hander recorded just two outs as the Baby Cakes sent 10 to the plate in the opening inning.
