        Clarksville High School WildcatsServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s girls basketball team had most of its inside attack either out — or playing at less than 100 percent — Wednesday, January 27th at the Willard Ross Memorial Gymnasium versus Northwest High School, but JK Cummings stepped up with five big 3s to lead the Lady Wildcats past the Lady Vikings, 60-36.

        The Lady Wildcats (15-9, 9-2 District 10-AAA) were without the services of forwards Haley Bearden and Ta’Tayana Outlaw – accounting for about 25 points and 16 rebounds – while Chrislen Brown, who scored a season-high 11 points versus Kenwood High School on January 23rd had spent most of the previous night at the hospital dealing with the lingering effects of a cold she has been battling.

        Northwest High School VikingsServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Northwest High School scored 42 points in the second half against Clarksville High School, Tuesday, January 27th at the Willard Ross Memorial Gymnasium, as the Vikings rallied to defeat the Wildcats in a District 10-AAA showdown, 68-59.

        The Vikings (14-9, 8-3 District 10-AAA) entered the second half trailing the Wildcats 32-26, but exploded out of the gates quickly after intermission by scoring 10 of the first 12 points of the second half – including four each from JaRyan Young and Marice Wright – to take their first lead of the game since the opening minutes of the game, 36-34.

        High School Basketball Recap for Clarksville - Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – Only four district games remain on the local high school girls basketball schedules. Just four chances to win, grab the regular season championship and improve their rank for the post season tournaments.

        Some teams picked up some momentum going into the final games with wins last week. For others weaknesses and errors have appeared, resulting in losses when they cannot afford them.

        High School Basketball Recap for Clarksville - Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – Half of the District 10-AAA high school boys basketball teams have a legitimate shot at this season’s regular season title with only four district games remaining. Several teams got crucial wins last week to keep them in title contention.

        Only two games separate six of the eight teams and four of the teams are tied for the top two spots in the district, separated by only one game. All the teams are sprinting toward the finish line. It will come down to a photo finish to determine the regular season champion.

        Rossview Middle SchoolServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Rossview Middle School and Dickson Middle School had easy nights, Monday, January 26th at Kenwood High School, in the quarterfinal round of the Area 1 AAA Boys Basketball Tournament, with the Hawks defeating Sycamore Middle School 47-29 and the Dragons topped Richview Middle School, 46-24.

        For Rossview Middle, the game turned its way midway through the opening quarter after falling behind the Knights 5-0 early-on.

        Northeast Middle SchoolServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – The Area 1 AAA Boy’s Basketball Tournament almost got a shocker to open the quarter-final round, Monday, January 25th at Kenwood High School, as top-seeded Northeast Middle had to rally from 13-points down in the fourth quarter to defeat the eight-seed Kenwood Middle 51-50 in overtime; while fourth-seed West Creek Middle overcame a slow start to beat fifth-seed Montgomery Central, 60-50.

        The Eagles trailed the Knights 32-19 after Amonti Moss opened the fourth quarter with a basket for Northeast Middle, just 23 seconds into the period.

        Clarksville High School WildcatsServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s girls basketball team scored the first 10 points in their District 10-AAA game versus Kenwood High School, Friday, January 23rd at William Workman Gymnasium, and cruised to a 66-43 victory.

        Haley Bearden, who finished with a game-high 20 points, would come off the bench to key the opening salvo for the Lady Wildcats (14-9, 8-2 District 10-AAA) scoring the final five points of the game-opening 10-point run.

        With the win, Kenwood (14-7, 7-3 District 10-AAA) remains tied for the top spot in the district standings with Northwest High School – who defeated West Creek High School 71-61 – while CHS (9-10, 6-4 District 10-AAA) drops to third-place.

        Kenwood Middle SchoolServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – The middle school basketball season came to a close and day 1 of the girls Area 1-AAA Tournament tipped off Thursday afternoon at Kenwood High School. Eight teams played each other and only four teams advanced with a chance to claim the tournament championship.

        In the first two games, the top two seeds dominated their opponents. First, the #1 Dickson Lady Dragons smothered the #8 Montgomery Central Lady Indians, 48-12. Then, the #2 Kenwood Lady Knights skewered the #7 New Providence Lady Mustangs 45-10.
