        Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsMetairie, LA – The Nashville Sounds wrapped up the road portion of their 2018 schedule in heart-breaking fashion Thursday night as they fell to the New Orleans Baby Cakes 5-4 in 10 innings. Chris Bostick’s two-out single in the 10th secured the victory for New Orleans.

Metairie native Jeremy Bleich pitched the 10th inning for the Sounds and took the loss as he allowed a walk and a base hit in the final frame. Bleich induced a fielder’s choice, which retired the designated runner trying to advance to third base to begin the game. He then walked Christian Adames and two batters later surrendered the game-ending base hit to Bostick.

        Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsMetairie, LA – The Nashville Sounds were silenced Thursday night as they fell to the New Orleans Baby Cakes 2-0 at the Shrine on Airline.

Making a spot start, Carlos Ramirez gave the Sounds all they could ask for. The right-hander went a career-long four innings in his first career start and blanked the Baby Cakes in those four frames. He yielded three hits on the night without walking anyone.

Offensively the Sounds had no answer for New Orleans’ Dillon Peters, who kept the Sounds’ batters off balance all night long. The southpaw collected a dozen punch outs to set a new career-high and retired the final ten batters he faced. The 12 strikeouts matched a New Orleans franchise record.

After Liam Hendriks worked his way out of a jam to put up a zero in the bottom of the ninth, Nashville’s offense exploded in the tenth to take control of the game.

        Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsMemphis, TN – The Nashville Sounds used a balanced offensive attack and four relievers to beat the Memphis Redbirds, 7-3, on Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park. Eight of the nine Sounds hitters reached base safely, and five players drove in at least one run.

Anthony Garcia started the scoring with an RBI single in the first against Daniel Poncedeleon, and after the Redbirds tied the game in the fourth, Garcia drew a bases-loaded walk in the fifth as part of a three-run rally. Dustin Fowler poked an RBI single, and Beau Taylor delivered a sacrifice fly to make it 4-1. Then the Sounds broke open the game with three unearned runs in the seventh against reliever Tommy Layne.

Nashville SoundsMemphis, TN – The Nashville Sounds led most of the way on Saturday night but got upended by the Memphis Redbirds in the bottom of the ninth inning and lost 4-3 at AutoZone Park. The loss officially eliminated the Sounds from playoff contention and clinched the American Southern division for the Redbirds.

The Sounds, who never led Friday night, grabbed a quick 1-0 lead in the first inning against Austin Warner. Then in the fifth Joyce smacked an RBI double to plate Jorge Mateo and later scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-0.

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – The Nashville Sounds’ batters hit the ball high while starting pitcher Eric Jokisch kept it low en route to a 4-2 win over the Round Rock Express.

The Sounds belted three solo home runs within the first two innings while Jokish induced 11 ground outs on the night. Jokisch was economical on the mound as he needed just 72 pitches, 55 of which were strikes, to get through six innings.
