Sparta, KY – University of Kentucky Men’s Basketball Head Coach John Calipari will be the honorary Ford Fusion pace car driver for Kentucky Speedway’s June 29th NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) Quaker State 400 presented by Advance Auto Parts and will help lead a 43-car field to the green flag just after 7:30pm.

Clarksville, TN – Kyran Weaver, a former defensive coach under Kirby Cannon at Missouri S&T, has been hired as Austin Peay State University’s new linebackers coach and the program’s strength and conditioning coordinator.
He replaces Gary Shephard, who retired from coaching earlier this year.

Mies, Switzerland – Tennessee Women’s Basketball Head Coach Emeritus Pat Summitt was one of twelve world class basketball personalities from 10 different countries enshrined into the FIBA Hall of Fame on June 19th.
Six former players, three coaches, two technical officials and a contributor composed the class of 2013. The inductees were honored at the House of Basketball – FIBA’s headquarters in Mies, on the outskirts of Geneva, Switzerland. Current Lady Vol Head Coach Holly Warlick attended the induction on Summitt’s behalf.

Colorado Springs, CO — Following six highly-competitive training camp workouts at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO., USA Basketball announced its final 12-man roster on June 18th for the 2013 FIBA U19 World Championship in Prague, Czech Republic. Tennessee’s Jarnell Stokes made the final cut and will represent the United States in international play for the second consecutive summer.
Tennessee is one of only two Southeastern Conference programs represented on the U.S. team.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball head coach Carrie Daniels has announced the addition of Dean Walsh to her coaching staff for the 2013-14 season, effective Monday.
Walsh, who was an associate head coach at Gardner-Webb last season, fills the position left vacant by the departure of Jessica Grayson last fall and joins assistant coaches Brooke Armistead and Jerome Jackson on Daniels’ staff.
