CLARKSVILLE TN– Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team faces a busy weekend, hosting Carson-Newman, 1:00pm, Saturday, before traveling to take on regional power Louisville, 6:00pm, Sunday.
The Governors (1-5) narrowly fell to IUPUI their last time out, 4-3, despite good performances from many of the players.

The Govs lost the doubles point, but all three matches were close, and at the time when IUPUI clinched the doubles point, the No. 1 duo of Almantas Ozelis and Anton Damberg were ahead 6-5.
The Jaguars picked up two wins in singles to go up 3-0 before Damberg won convincingly at No. 3 singles. Despite straight-set wins from Ozelis at No. 1 singles and Hunter Sanders at No. 6 singles, the Jaguars picked up the deciding win at No. 5 singles to hold on.
Ozelis, Sanders, and Damberg have now all won their past two singles matches, with Ozelis winning both of his in three sets, while Sanders and Damberg have each won in straight sets.
The Govs first opponent, Carson-Newman, have not got off to the best of starts. The Eagles (1-3) lost their most recent match against Lee by a 5-2 scoreline. This is the first time the two programs have met under head coach Ross Brown‘s guidance as the Govs will look to get back to winning ways.
The Cardinals (6-3, 0-1 ACC) present a much tougher task on paper, as the Govs have never beaten Louisville, including a 7-0 loss last season.
The Cardinals have played one common opponent, Lipscomb, who they defeated 5-1 at home. The Govs suffered defeat at home against Lipscomb earlier in the year. Louisville will host Purdue at noon before playing the Govs at 6:00pm.
Video and live scoring will be available for the match against Louisville.
