Richman runs wild in return to VanderbiltAPSU Sports Information
![]() Austin Peay Women’s Track and Field put in another great performance at Vanderbilt Invitational. (APSU Sports Information) Sophomore Sabrina Richman might’ve had the biggest weekend, and it began Friday for her; she became the first Gov since Kymmalett Ross in 2014 with a sub-25 second 200m run, finishing third overall in a field of 103 with a 24.51 mark that easily doubled as her career-best. She came back on Saturday to place third in the 400m dash as well, hitting 55.54 in the 51-runner field. Richman was joined near the top of the 400m field by junior Amelia Thiesing, who placed 15th with a personal-best 57.36 run, while freshman Kyra Wilder also placed 15th in the 60m dash, equaling her career-best with a 7.74 mark. In the 60m hurdles, sophomore Lennex Walker just missed qualifying for a finals field that included three SEC runners, three ACC runners, a pro and the nations’ 23rd-ranked runner; she placed ninth with a season-low 8.77 run. Sophomore Kamille Dunbar just missed her first sub-9 second run in the 60m hurdles, placing 15th with a personal-best 9.01 mark. Walker also posted a 13th-place finish in the triple jump, posting an 11.70m leap that easily eclipsed her previous career-best. In the 800m run, freshman Mikaela Smith finished 15th overall and fifth among freshmen with a 2:17.58 run, her best as a Gov by nearly six seconds and the fastest 800m mark by an Austin Peay student-athlete since Molly Jordan’s 2:14.55 at the 2016 Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships. The pole vault played out in a pretty standard fashion; senior Savannah Amato placed highly, third overall and second among collegiate student-athletes, with a season-best 3.99m mark, while classmate Dascha Hix was fifth overall at 3.84m, just missing her career-best. Sophomore Morgan Bradley also earned a top-15 showing at 3.54m, finishing 14th overall. The Govs venture east next week for the Thundering Herd Invitational, hosted by Marshall in Huntington, West Virginia. About APSU Sports Information
