The return from the holiday break always proffers something of a mixed bag, with the student-athletes taken out of their weekly training regimen.
However, a relatively light field gives the Govs an opportunity to get back to work and build toward the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships in late February.
Junior Tymeitha Tolbert will run in Heat Two of the 55m dash; she entered the holiday flush with success after winning the 60m at the Saluki Fast Start, coming within one-thousandth of a second of breaking her school record in the process. Tolbert also is scheduled to run the 200m on Sunday.
Sophomore Sabrina Richman also looks to make it back-to-back wins on both sides of the break in the 400m; she was victorious in Carbondale with a 57.19 mark.
Freshman throwers Jackie Verseman and Kori McDaniel are scheduled to throw in both the shot put, with Verseman flying solo in weight throw; both set personal bests in the shot put last time out in Carbondale and Verseman looks to improve upon her personal-best in the weight from her previous outing as well.
Live scoring will be available for this meet courtesy ptgrouponline.com. Up-to-date coverage can be found via LetsGoPeay.com, with a complete recap following all the day’s activities.
