      APSU Men's BasketballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball simply found the iron unkind in Friday’s non-conference finale against Western Kentucky, falling 72-55 to the Hilltoppers, who made their first visit to Clarksville since 2004.

      Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsWinston-Salem, NC – The 21st-ranked Tennessee Volunteers hit the road again this weekend to face off against another ACC foe in Wake Forest at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The game will tip at 12:30pm and will be televised live on ESPN2 and streamed online via WatchESPN. 

      Tennessee (8-2) enters the matchup with a pair of victories over teams from the ACC (NC State, 67-58, and Georgia Tech, 77-70) already this season. UT fell to No. 7 North Carolina in a hard-fought battle in Thompson-Boling Arena last Sunday, marking the Vols’ first home loss of the year. On Wednesday, Tennessee bounced back to hold off a Furman team riding a five-game winning streak, 66-61.

      Austin Peay Govs alumnus Jordan Harmon named Director of Athletics Development

      Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Jordan Harmon, a 2017 Austin Peay State University alumnus, was named Director of Development for Athletics Fundraising within the University Advancement office at the start of December.

      Harmon, a St. Louis native, will be responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies to enhance Austin Peay’s 16 varsity sports. In that role, he will be assist the department’s efforts to cultivate and steward major gifts for the athletics department. Harmon replaces Alaric Klinghard, who left the position this past summer.

      Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – With two games remaining in the regular season, the Tennessee Titans (8-6) host a Christmas Eve showdown this week with the NFC West-leading Los Angeles Rams (10-4). Kickoff at Nissan Stadium (capacity 69,143) is scheduled for noon CST on Sunday, December 24th.

      Sunday’s game marks the Rams’ third trip to Tennessee in the regular season. Their last visit was on December 13th, 2009, a game the Titans won 47-7. However, the Rams lead the all-time series 6-5.

      Nashville Predators Fall To Carolina Hurricanes 4-1

      Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators dropped their second straight game, losing to the Carolina Hurricanes, 4-1, after Carolina scored 4 goals in the first 6:30 of the game.

      Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne was sent packing and Juuse Saros stymied the Hurricanes the rest of the way.

      But the Predators just couldn’t recover from the opening onslaught. 

      Derek Ryan scored for Carolina just 40 seconds into the game, on a power play.
