Keisha Gregory continues to lead the Governors averaging 10.6 points per game shooting 51.4 percent from the field. Gregory scored 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds at Lipscomb, recording her third career double-double, the first of the season for the Governors.
The veteran trio, Falon Baker, Bri Williams and Brianne Alexander continue to provide consistency for the Governors on both ends of the floor.
Baker scored 13 points against Lipscomb, providing six rebounds and five assists in her 37 minutes, while Bri Williams scored 13 points, 10 in the second half, and dished out three assists in fifth-straight start.
Alexander had a dominant third period, erasing the Lady Bison’s 8-0 start to the second half, scoring nine points and pulling down three rebounds leading the Govs crucial third-quarter run.
Alexander finished with 12 points, six rebounds and one assist in the Governors fourth-straight win.
Despite having cold shooting stretches in their last two games, the Govs’ defense has been the difference maker. The full-court pressure Austin Peay employed against the Bison prompted a shift in momentum that the Govs never relinquished.
The Govs are facing a Golden Lion team that has struggled on the road, dropping their last two road contests against Texas Tech and Dayton, but have proven explosive at home, averaging 76.0 points per game.
The Golden Lions are currently shooting 33.3 percent from the field and share the offensive responsibility averaging 13.0 assists per game.
Last Time against the Golden Lions
Austin Peay has only faced Arkansas-Pine Bluff once in program history, November 21st, 2016 at H. O. Clemmons Arena in Pine Bluff, AR.
The Governors won the first matchup 69-55.
Austin Peay State University women’s basketball faces UAPB for the first time in Clarksville, as Gregory and Williams look to continue their offensive success against the Golden Lions having combined for 14 points and 7 rebounds in last year’s meeting.
The Govs had 17 points from the bench. Freshman Brianah Ferby scored 13, and Jemiah Harrison and Nieja Crawford each added two points.
Gregory led the Governors against Lipscomb with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Her first double-double of the season, the third in her career.

The Govs are protecting a four-game winning streak. After falling behind in each of their last four contests, the Governors have rallied in the second half to win against Christian Brothers, Trevecca, Alabama A&M and Lipscomb.
