Junior Myiah Johnson opens a busy Friday for APSU, with her 100m hurdles effort slated to begin at 12:15pm. The field events get started at 1:00pm, with junior Chancis Jones‘ nod in the long jump invitational—the Chattanooga native is one of 15 athletes to gain admittance to the invite field.
Later Friday afternoon (1:55pm ET), Austin Peay’s 400m duo of Breigh Jones and Terri Morris will put their best foot forward against some of the nation’s best. Jones in particular has enjoyed her time in Florida in the past—Jacksonville was the site of the 2014 NCAA East Preliminary, where Jones earned a qualifying mark for the NCAA Championships.
The Govs close Friday with an appearance from junior Kaylnn Pitts—she ends APSU’s Friday at 5:00pm with a long jump attempt, and will be the Govs lone Saturday competitor in the triple jump, slated to begin at 4:00pm.
Austin Peay returns to full team action next weekend at the Hilltopper Relays in Bowling Green.
