      Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – The final week of the regular season gets underway on Tuesday night when Tennessee travels to face SEC and in-state rival Vanderbilt at 7:00pm ET/6:00pm CT on the SEC Network.

      The Volunteers (13-16, 6-10 SEC) and Commodores (18-11, 10-6 SEC) cross paths on contrasting trajectories as UT looks to bounce back from a pair of losses last week while VU is currently enjoying a three-game winning streak.

      In its most recent action, Tennessee suffered just its third home defeat of the season when it fell to Arkansas by a 75-65 count on Saturday.

      Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Tickets for this week’s Ohio Valley Conference men and women’s basketball tournaments, to be played at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, are on sale in the Austin Peay State University Athletics ticket office.

      All-session tickets are being sold for $60.00 while single-session tickets are being sold for $15.00 apiece for both the men and women.

      The Governors, who are the No. 8 seed, will play #5 Tennessee Tech, 6:00pm, Wednesday night on the men’s side, with the winner advancing to play Tennessee State, 6:00pm, Thursday.

      Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUNashville, TN – Austin Peay State University sophomore Josh Robinson, who averaged 20 points per game in his first two starts at point guard in leading the Governors’ to back-to-back wins has been named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week.

      Meanwhile, Chris Porter-Bunton, who scored 11 second-half points, including four key late-game buckets to rescue the Governors season finale against Southeast Missouri, has been named OVC Freshman of the Week.

      Instant Peay Play: Govs Chris Horton finally gets a shot at postseason play, history

      Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – For the past four seasons Austin Peay basketball player Chris Horton has been one of the best players in Ohio Valley Conference history to not make the postseason, well that all changed February 27th with the Governors earning a spot in the postseason for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

      Just how good has Horton been? Well, let’s start with his numbers for Austin Peay.

      Heading into his first OVC Tournament game, Horton ranks 10th on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,615 points – just 11 points from tying Trenton Hassell for ninth place — and 30 points behind Anthony Davis for eighth place.

      Tennessee Lady Vols Cruise Past Georgia on Senior Day

      UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – Diamond DeShields scored a game-high 22 points and Bashaara Graves recorded her 29th career double-double as Tennessee rolled past Georgia in the season finale, 80-60, at Thompson-Boling Arena.

      With 80 total points, Tennessee (17-12, 8-8 SEC) notched its highest points total in SEC play this season and its most in any game this season since scoring 90 in a win over Stetson on December 30th.

      Following DeShields’ 22 points, freshman Te’a Cooper logged just the third 20-point performance of her season on Sunday, finishing with 21 for the game. Graves, playing in front of the home faithful on Senior Day, rounded out UT’s double-digit scorers, notching 12 points to go along with her game-high 10 rebounds.

      Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUTroy, AL – Austin Peay State University’s softball team got into a 6-0 hole Sunday, in the final day of the Trojan Warrior Tournament, to host Troy before falling by a 9-3 final.

      The Lady Govs (2-7) only trailed the Trojans 1-0 after three innings, but Troy broke the game open with a five-run fourth inning on five hits, a hit batter and one APSU error.

      Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – A fourth straight double-digit scoring performance from Armani Moore wasn’t enough as Tennessee fell to Arkansas, 75-65, Saturday night at Thompson-Boling Arena.

      Moore led the Volunteers with 17 points and 11 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season. Admiral Schofield scored 15 points, while Shembari Phillips followed up his career-high 16 points against South Carolina with 13 for his third-straight game in double-digits.

      The Vols, who played without the services of two of their three leading scorers in Kevin Punter Jr. and Robert Hubbs III, trailed by just a point at halftime, 34-33.
