Austin Peay Sports Information
Clarksville, TN – Sophomore Kaylnn Pitts, of the Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Pitts broke the school record for the third time in as many meets, posting a 12.92m (42’ 4.75”) mark in the triple jump at last weekend’s Memphis Tiger Invitational and placing runner-up behind only Memphis’ Chardae Greenlee, who ranks fifth in the nation entering this weekend.
Pitts is not too far behind her, however, ranking 15th nationally and 10th in the NCAA East Region in the event. Since establishing a 12.54m (41’ 1.75”) mark as her season-best at the Hilltopper Relays on April 11, she has added more than a foot to her distance in less than a month.
