Nashville, TN – Senior Ornella Di Salvo, of the Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team, was named to the Ohio Valley Conference all-conference second team for the second consecutive year, Thursday, at the annual awards banquet prior to the start of the league tournament.
A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Di Salvo was 9-11 during the spring campaign, posting a 5-5 conference mark at No. 1 singles. Di Salvo finished her season by winning her last three matches in straight sets.

Teaming with fellow senior Vanessa Tavares, Di Salvo went 9-5 at No. 1 doubles and gained wins in their final two matches of the spring.
Di Salvo wraps up her career with a combined singles record of 44-52, with a mark of 18-20 in OVC play. In doubles action, Di Salvo has a combined record of 45-37 overall.
“Ornella has won a tremendous number of matches for us,” said head coach Ross Brown. “She has as much talent as anybody and played to the level of the best in the conference.”
With the honor, Lady Govs tennis has placed an athlete among the All-OVC honorees in each of the past six seasons.
