Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team will play host to Middle Tennessee for a 3:00pm, Tuesday, single game at Cheryl Holt [1] Field, in a matchup between in-state rivals.

This contest also will be the second meeting in 2015 between the Lady Govs (8-26) and Blue Raiders (15-23), with the two squads meeting previously on the final day of the Mississippi State Bulldog Classic, on February 8th, a 5-3 loss by APSU.

Offensively, the Lady Govs enter the matchup with four players hitting .300-or-better on the season through 34 games, led by Niya Sparks [3]‘ .329 batting average, seven home runs and 20 RBI. Meanwhile, Rikki Arkansas [4] (.320/1 2B/4 RBI), Laurel Burroughs [5] (.311/6 HR/19 RBI) and Chandler Groves [6] (.305/4 HR/24 RBI) round out the quartet.

Middle Tennessee is led at the plate by Cor’Nisha Birdsong, who enters the contest batting .377, which includes six doubles and 17 RBI to go with 34 stolen bases.

In the circle, Natalie Ayala [7] (4-10, 5.30 ERA, 25 Ks) leads the Lady Govs pitching staff, with Sidney Hooper [8] (2-8, 7.88 ERA, 21 Ks) also recording multiple wins this season.

Kelci Cheney (9-13, 4.45 ERA, 64 Ks) leads the Blue Raiders pitching staff.
