APSU Sports Information
Clarksville, TN – For the third week in a row junior Breigh Jones, of the Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Jones broke the school record – again – at the Alex Wilson Invitational, becoming the first Austin Peay athlete to break the 54-second barrier in the indoor 400m dash with a 53.96 mark, finishing third. According to research, that is the best mark posted by an Ohio Valley Conference athlete in the indoor 400m this century.
The Memphis Tennessee native continues to lead the OVC in the event and ranks 40th nationally.
