High School Basketball Recap for Clarksville - Montgomery County TennesseeClarksville, TN – Only four district games remain on the local high school girls basketball schedules. Just four chances to win, grab the regular season championship and improve their rank for the post season tournaments.

Some teams picked up some momentum going into the final games with wins last week. For others weaknesses and errors have appeared, resulting in losses when they cannot afford them.

The Rossview Lady Hawks (14-5) have bounced back from a close upset loss to the West Creek Lady Coyotes on Tuesday, January 13th with three wins in a row including a pivotal win against the Clarksville High Lady Wildcats last Tuesday.

The definitive 44-29 victory over the Lady Wildcats followed by a dominating win over the Springfield Yellow Jackets, 52-17, last Friday sets the stage well for the Lady Hawks to repeat as regular season champs. They can just about ensure another trophy with wins over the Northeast Lady Eagles and Henry County Lady Patriots this week.

Week 10 Recap

The Lady Wildcats‘ (14-9) 10 game win streak was snapped by the Lady Hawks last Tuesday. They rebounded with a 66-43 win over the Kenwood Lady Knights Friday. However, that was their second loss to the Lady Hawks this season, giving the Lady Hawks the advantage in case of a tie at the end of the season. The Lady Wildcats will play the Northwest Lady Vikings and the Lady Coyotes this week. They are currently second in District 10-AAA, one game behind the Lady Hawks.

The Henry County Lady Patriots (16-8) are also one game behind the Lady Hawks. They defeated the Lady Eagles and the Lady Coyotes in week 10 to extend their current win streak to four games. They have an important game against the Lady Hawks, who they already lost too once, Friday, January 30th.

The Lady Coyotes (10-9) split games last week. After losing to the Lady Patriots 35-58 Tuesday, they beat the struggling Lady Vikings Friday, 62-28. Only three games behind the Lady Hawks, the Lady Coyotes still have a shot at the regular season title. They have defeated the Lady Hawks once, but have one loss against the Lady Wildcats and were swept by the Lady Patriots. They play the Lady Wildcats Friday, January 30th and the Lady Hawks Friday, February 6th.

The Lady Eagles (9-14) split games last week, but have lost three of their last four. This week they will play the laboring Lady Yellow Jackets and the soaring Lady Hawks.

The Kenwood Lady Knights (6-15) ended a three game losing streak with a 50-39 win over the Lady Yellow Jackets last Tuesday. It was their third district win of the season. They lost to the Lady Wildcats Friday 43-66.

Both the Lady Vikings (2-17) and the Yellow Jackets (2-15) lost two district games last week. The Lady Yellow Jackets still have yet to win a district game. The Lady Vikings only district win came against the Lady Yellow Jackets.

The Clarksville Academy Lady Cougars (1-15) lost three games last week. The Montgomery Central Lady Indians (1-18) dropped two games in week 10. The Lady Indians single win this season came against the Lady Cougars. The two teams play each other again Thursday, January 29th.
