Clarksville, TN – Senior guard Ed Dyson, of the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Dyson led the Govs in scoring as the Govs split a pair of home contests against Lipscomb and Troy last week. He averaged 18.0 points and 4.0 rebounds, shooting 52.4 percent (11-for-21) from the floor.
The Washington, D.C., native posted a season-high 21 points in Saturday’s loss to Lipscomb, hitting four shots from beyond the arc.
His 15 points Monday against Troy paced the Govs in their victory against the Trojans, and Dyson battled through foul trouble to play 37 minutes, denying the Trojans the program’s 1000th victory.
The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included
- Junior guard Tiasha Gray, of the women’s basketball team, scored 23 points and added six rebounds and four assists in Saturday’s 75-65 loss to Southern Illinois.
