Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds continue their #LastCheerAtGreer with the team’s fifth homestand of the year at Greer Stadium, which begins this Monday, June 9th.
The eight-game homestand features two teams that haven’t appeared in Nashville since 2012. The Sounds welcome the Reno Aces (Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate) for four games spanning June 9th-12th and the Tacoma Rainiers (Seattle Mariners affiliate) from June 13th-June 16th.
Moscow – With a 15-8 win over host Russia (8-1) in the gold medal game of the 2014 FIBA 3×3 World Championship on Sunday, the USA women captured a second-straight world championship title with an unblemished 9-0 record.
The victory gave Tennessee standout Cierra Burdick her fourth international gold medal with USA Basketball. She previously played for the 2011 U19 World Championship, the 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship and the 2009 FIBA Americas U16 Championship.

Nashville, Tn – Sunday’s game at Hawkins Field unfolded in memorable and historic fashion for the Vanderbilt baseball team: It started with an offensive explosion and ended with a dogpile.
The Commodores clinched a spot in the College World Series by posting a 12-5 victory over Stanford in Game 3 of the Super Regional before a sold-out, mostly Commodore-crazed crowd of 3,626. The victory, which was propelled by a five-run first inning and the stellar relief pitching of freshman Hayden Stone, sends Vanderbilt (46-19) to Omaha, Neb., for next week’s College World Series, where the Commodores will face Louisville in their opener on Saturday at 7:00pm.
Nashville Begins Homestand Tomorrow Night At Greer
Memphis, TN – The Nashville Sounds closed out their brief cross-state road trip on the short end of a 9-4 defeat to the Memphis Redbirds on Sunday afternoon at AutoZone Park.
Nashville (34-30),which split the four-game set against their division rivals, continued its struggles in day games this season, falling to 7-17 in afternoon affairs. The Sounds were out-hit, 15-5, in the contest.
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s 28th Annual Governors Golf Classic and Partner Celebration Dinner, set for June 27th, has emerged as Clarksville’s premier golf outing to benefit Governors Athletics, presented by Budweiser of Clarksville, Swan Lake Golf Course and the Clarksville Country Club.
A complete field of 72 teams has been reserved – 36 teams to play Swan Lake and 36 teams to play the Country Club – with both rounds teeing off at 10:30am in the four-player, best-ball scramble.
