      Kenwood Lady Knights Withstand Late Rally To Nip West Creek Lady Coyotes 3-2

      Kenwood High SchoolClarksville, TN – The Kenwood Lady Knights softball team held off a last inning rally to win a District 10-AAA conference game at home Monday, April 21st, against the West Creek Lady Coyotes, 3-2.

      The Lady Knights committed six errors in the game to the Lady Coyotes two, but strong pitching kept the Lady Coyotes from taking advantage of most of the Lady Knights mistakes.

      The Lady Knights plated two runs in the third inning to take a 3-0 lead over the Lady Coyotes, and kept the Lady Coyotes scoreless until the sixth inning.

      Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUMuscle Shoals, AL – Austin Peay State University women’s golf team has much ground to make up in the Ohio Valley Conference golf tournament.

      The Lady Govs shot an opening-round 320, Monday, and sit in seventh place after Day 1 of the tournament, being played on par-72, 6,203-yard Fighting Joe layout at The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals.

      Tennessee State introduces Dana Ford as new men’s basketball coach

      TSU LogoNashville, Tn – Dana Ford was introduced as the next head coach of the Tennessee State men’s basketball team at a press conference on Monday.

      “We are going to be in the hands of a rising star,” Athletics Director Teresa Phillips said. “Dana is a well-rounded man with wisdom that goes beyond his years. He is the right fit at the right time.”

      Ford, 29, will take over a program that went 5-25 last season. However, he has shown that he can turn things around quickly, as TSU increased its win total to twenty games during his final year as an assistant (2010-11).

      This annual event pits athletes from Murray State, Austin Peay and Tennessee Tech against one another.
