      Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUMillington, TN – Designated hitter Dre Gleason’s two-run single in the eighth inning propelled Austin Peay State University’s baseball team to a 5-3 victory against Memphis, Wednesday night, at USA Stadium.

      Austin Peay (13-20) scored two runs in the sixth but surrendered that lead in seventh.

      Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Kayla Davidson drove on four runs while Lauren de Castro recorded her fifth shutout of the season, Wednesday afternoon, as the Lady Govs defeated former Ohio Valley Conference member Middle Tennessee, 8-0, in six innings at Cheryl Holt Field.

      Rossview’s Janie White Named to TSWA All State Team Second Straight Year

      Clarksville, TN – On Tuesday, April 8th the Tennessee Sports Writers Association released their choices for the girls all-state basketball teams. For the second year in a row, Rossview’s 6’2” center/forward Janie White was named to the Division I Class AAA all-state team.

      White is the Rossview Lady Hawk’s all time leading scorer and was a crucial component to the Lady Hawks historic success this season.

      In addition to a dominating post presence where she averaged 18 points in the regular season, she exhibited her intelligence on the court along with a killer instinct averaging almost eight rebounds per game along with four blocks.

      Infielder Taylor Green Goes Yard To Record Nashville’s Only Run

      Nashville SoundsDes Moines, IA – The Nashville Sounds failed to keep up with the Iowa Cubs Wednesday afternoon at Principal Park, losing by a 6-1 margin: the team’s largest deficit of the season.

      Tied 1-1, the I-Cubs took control of the game by scoring two runs off Sounds starter Johnny Hellweg (1-1) in the fifth inning. The 6-foot-9 hurler surrendered a wild pitch to score Arismendy Alcantara, who reached base on balls and moved to third on Javier Baez’s double over a leaping Kevin Mattison in centerfield.

      APSU Governors Bass TournamentClarksville, TN – The 20th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just five weeks away.

      This year’s edition will be held Saturday, May 10th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tenn., State Park. Last season’s tourney drew 282 boats—14 more than in 2012, despite entrants being forced to utilize the back entrance because of flooding.

      Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Junior Iago Seffrin, of the Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team, has been named this week’s Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

      Seffrin earned Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Week after winning both his No. 4 singles matches last week to run his current winning streak to seven matches. He defeated Morehead State’s Nick Mercer (6-0, 6-1) on Saturday and his 6-4, 6-4 win against Eastern Kentucky’s Sebastian Mueller clinched the victory for Austin Peay.
