      Top Prospect Nelson Wins Season Debut For Nashville

      Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader with the Omaha Storm Chasers on Saturday afternoon at Werner Park. The Sounds won the opener, 2-1, before suffering a walkoff 4-3 loss in the nightcap.

      In the opener, top Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jimmy Nelson turned in a quality start to lead the Sounds to a 2-1 victory.

      Nelson (1-0) held the Storm Chasers to one run on three hits while striking out four batters in six innings of work, tossing 91 pitches on the afternoon.

      Sophia Fabbro, younger sister of Austin Peay State University women’s soccer standout Gina Fabbro, will join her sister on the 2014 Lady Govs roster after signing her National Letter of Intent, Wednesday.

      Clarksville High baseball falls to Blackman High despite two-hitter

      Clarksville High School WildcatsMurfreesboro, TN – Clarksville High School baseball got a combined two-hitter from Teal Young and Mitch Muhlada, April 4th, versus Blackman High School, but its wasn’t enough to keep the Wildcats from suffering their second loss of the season in a 1-0 final.

      Young pitched the first four-plus innings for Clarksville High (14-2), giving up one hit and four walks, while striking out two, while Muhlada gave up the other hit in his two innings of work.

      But it was two errors by the Wildcats in the bottom of the fifth inning that allowed the game’s only run.

      Clarksville National Softball League Raises Money for Rev. Chad Watson, Presents $1000 Check

      Clarksville National Girls Softball LeagueClarksville, TN – Cooling temperatures and strong winds did not stop Clarksville residents from filling the aluminum bleachers outside Morgan and Moore fields Friday, April 4th for the Clarksville National Softball League’s Jamboree and opening ceremonies

      Girls in the league ranging from 4-year old tee ballers to 16-year old fast pitch players donned their new brightly colored uniforms, freshly oiled gloves and state of the art safety gear, and participated in single inning Jamboree games before the opening ceremonies.

      Northwest Vikings soccer outlasts Montgomery Central Indians 2-1

      Northwest High School VikingsClarksville, TN – Northwest High School’s boys soccer team scored two goals in a span of five minutes in the first half, April 4th at Esau Lathon Athletic Field, and made them hold up against Montgomery Central High School in a 2-1 victory.

      Northwest (2-2) had tied the game 1-1 in the 21st minute on a goal by Alan Huggins off a cross from Jarrd Darrough, but it was the go-head goal five minutes later from freshman Osvaldo Onate off a cross from Huggins that turned out to be the game winner. «Read the rest of this article»
