Nashville, TN – Clarksville High pitcher Donnie Everette pitched a 10-0 shutout against the Northwest Vikings Monday, March 24 at Charles Hawkins Field to extend the Wildcats undefeated streak to 9-0.
Everette allowed just three hits and struck out four as he kept the Vikings scoreless Monday afternoon. Conversely, Vikings’ pitchers struggled. It only took five innings for the Wildcats to generate 10 runs on 12 hits and win the game.
This was the third shutout of the Wildcats season. They have scored 25 runs in their last three victories.
Everette opened the game with a wild pitch that struck the Vikings lead off batter, Jahnal Browne. Browne stole bases into scoring position. However, he was left stranded as Everette followed up by striking out the next two batters and retiring the fourth on a groundout.

Everette did not walk or hit another batter the rest of the game.
Vikings starting pitcher, Christian Dorthalina, did not fare as well against the Wildcat batters. The Wildcats first two batters both hit singles. Then an error in centerfield allowed the Wildcats to score their first run.
The Wildcats scored another lone run in the second and plated three in the third. Dorthalina was tagged for 6 runs on 7 hits in 31/3 innings on the mound. He struck out two and walked 5.
Six different Wildcats made hits in the game, all with at least one RBI. Brady Cook and Landon Mosteller both hit 3-of-4 with an RBI on the night.
Cook hit an RBI single in the bottom of the second for the Wildcats score that inning. In the bottom of the third, Teal Young hit a fast moving grounder that hugged the first base line to the left-field fence for a double that brought in two runs. Luke Chilcutt brought in Young for the third run of the inning when he hit a high ball that dropped just behind second base.
The Wildcats were up 8-0 in the bottom of the fifth when Mosteller hit a grounder up the middle with 2 on for an RBI single. Vikings’ pitcher Conner Robinson walked in the game ending 10th run. Robinson pitched only one inning, allowing three hits and walking two.
The Wildcats had no errors in the game. The Vikings committed two errors. The two teams will face each other again Tuesday, March 25 at Northwest.
