Knoxville, Tn – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team battled back from a pair of early deficits to force extra innings, but could not topple No. 14 Tennessee, falling 8-7 in 12 innings, Tuesday night at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Knoxville, Tn – Tennessee’s Meighan Simmons and Isabelle Harrison were named to the All-Southeastern Conference First Team, and Simmons was selected as the SEC’s Player of the Year, the Associated Press announced on Tuesday.
Simmons earned AP All-SEC acclaim for the third time in her career, including first-team status for the second year in a row.
Harrison was a first-time selection as well, as she and Simmons duplicated the distinction given to them previously by the league’s coaches.

Sevierville, TN – Playing its spring’s finest round, Austin Peay State University women’s golf team fired a final-round 316, Tuesday, to finish tied for seventh in the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, played at the Sevierville Golf Club.

Clarksville, TN – Senior Marco Iten, of the Austin Peay State University men’s golf team, has been named this week’s Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Iten took home individual co-medalist honors at the Talis Park Challenge in Naples, FL, this week, shooting one-under par 215 (73-73-69) and leading a late charge by the Govs to secure third place at Talis Park Golf Club.
Nashville, TN – Individual game tickets for the upcoming 2014 Nashville Sounds season will be available at the Greer Stadium box office, via the team’s online ticketing system, and over the phone, beginning at 9:00am on Monday, March 24th.
Ticket prices for the upcoming season are $12.00 for reserved seats and $8.00 for general admission seats when bought at least 24 hours in advance ($15.00/$11.00 for gameday ticket purchases).

Tennessee Will Play Host To No. 16 Seed Northwestern State In Saturday’s First Round
Knoxville, TN – Tennessee is making its record 33rd appearance in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship, and the Lady Vols will do so as a No.1 seed, hosting No. 16 seed Northwestern State on Saturday, the NCAA Selection Committee announced Monday night.
This is the 22nd time Tennessee has been a No. 1 seed in the tournament, and the first time since 2011.
Head coach Holly Warlick’s squad, 27-5 on the season and an automatic qualifier by virtue of its SEC Tournament title, earned the top seeding in the Louisville regional.
