Clarksville, TN – Ten home matches, including five Ohio Valley Conference contests and two against Southeastern Conference foes, dot the 2014 Austin Peay State University women’s soccer home schedule, announced Friday by head coach Kelley Guth.
Guth will have to replace eight seniors who were the backbone of the most successful four-year stretch in Austin Peay history – Tatiana Ariza and company went 48-27-5 from 2010-13, appearing in two OVC Tournament championship matches during that time.

Behind Gina Fabbro, an All-Newcomer honoree last season, and Shelby Olszewski, who took all-tournament honors at the OVC Tournament, Guth will be charged with blending youth (eight incoming freshmen) and experience (seven returners played more than 900 minutes last season) into next fall’s squad.
The Lady Govs travel to Indiana State (5:00pm, August 11th) and Vanderbilt (7:00pm, August 15th) during exhibition season before opening the regular season on the road at Evansville (7:00pm, August 22nd).
Austin Peay opens its home schedule 2:00pm, August 24th, against Chattanooga, the first of three straight home matches – the Lady Govs also host SEC foe Alabama (7:00pm, August 29th) and Lipscomb (7:00pm, September 1st) during the first 11 days of the regular season.
Austin Peay’s only regular-season tournament action will be at Middle Tennessee; the Lady Govs open the tournament against Kennesaw State (4:00pm, September 5th), before taking on the host Blue Raiders (5:00pm, September 7th) to conclude the tournament.
Austin Peay returns home for three straight matches following its time at Middle Tennessee, beginning against SEC foe Mississippi (7:00pm, September 12th). The Lady Govs close out the non-conference schedule against Samford (7:00pm, September 19th) before hosting Eastern Kentucky (7:00pm, September 26th) in the OVC opener.
The Lady Govs exit middle Tennessee for the first time in more than a month when they embark on a season-long four-game road trip through the OVC. Austin Peay travels to Morehead State (noon, September 28th), Eastern Illinois (2:00pm, October 5th), Southeast Missouri (7:00pm, October 10th) and SIU Edwardsville (2:00pm, October 12th), visiting four OVC Tournament qualifiers and two semifinalists from the 2013 championships, including eventual champion Morehead State.
The final of Austin Peay’s three three-match home stands begins against Jacksonville State (7:00pm, October 17th), with matches against Tennessee Tech (2:00pm, October 19th) and Murray State (7:00pm, October 24th) scheduled to visit Morgan Bros. Field.
The Lady Govs close out the road schedule at UT Martin (2:00pm, October 26th) before a Senior Night/Halloween contest against Belmont (7:00pm, October 31st).
The OVC Tournament will be held November 6th-9th at the home of the regular-season champion; Austin Peay has never hosted the conference tournament.
