Knoxville, TN – The #5/5 Lady Vols (10-1) will try to get back on the winning track on Sunday afternoon, as they play host to Lipscomb (3-7) at 2:05pm at Thompson-Boling Arena.
The matchup, the first-ever between these two Tennessee schools in women’s basketball, will represent the final contest of 2013 for both teams.
The game will not be televised, but it will be streamed live on UTSports.com for free with audio provided by Mickey Dearstone, radio play-by-play voice of the Lady Vol Network.
Tennessee enters the contest after having a seven-day gap since its last game, a 76-70 loss at #6/5 Stanford on Dec. 21st that resulted in the Lady Vols’ first setback of the season and a drop from No. 3/3 to No. 5/5 in the AP and USA TODAY polls.

The Lady Bisons also are coming off a seven-day break from live action, but they journey to Knoxville seeking their first winning streak of the season after defeating Gardner-Webb, 86-68, on Dec. 21st at the Wright State Invitational in Dayton, Ohio.
There are at least three common threads weaving together the current Lady Vol and Lady Bison squads.
Lipscomb head coach Greg Brown was a graduate assistant (2002-03) and assistant (2003-04) at Tennessee, helping the Big Orange women win two SEC titles and earn a pair of NCAA runner-up finishes.
Lipscomb redshirt freshman Chandler Cooper played on the same team with UT sophomore Bashaara Graves at Clarksville High School before beginning her college career and redshirting at Florida last season.
Lady Bison true freshman Maya Dillard played on the Buford (Ga.) High School team with Tennessee redshirt freshman Andraya Carter.
