Nashville, TN – Belmont volleyball (17-13, 10-4) returns home to the Curb Event Center Wednesday to host crosstown rival, Tennessee State.
Wednesday’s match is being tabbed the ‘Out for Blood’ match as the Bruins raise awareness for finding a cure for diabetes. Fans are asked to wear red to the game.
Belmont wraps up its final week of the regualr season after a five set loss at Morehead State, which snapped the Bruins’ nine game win streak. Senior Allison McCoy (Huntington Beach, Calif.) leads the Ohio Valley Conference with a .373 hitting percentage, and she leads the team with 95 blocks. Junior Scarlet Gable (Munford, Tenn.) leads the team in kills with 303 and averages 2.66 per set.
Tennessee State (10-15, 6-8) dropped a pair of matches to Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky last week. Naomi Wells is the conference leader in kills, averaging 3.74 per set. Sherryce Butler leads the Tigers with 71 blocks.
This is the second meeting between Belmont and TSU this season. The Tigers won the first meeting in five sets.
