Austin Peay State University Baseball Govs win season opener 4-2 over IowaClarksville, TN – There’s no better way to start the season than with a win, and that’s just what the APSU Baseball team did with a 4-2 victory against Iowa at Raymond C. Hand Park Friday afternoon. Starting pitcher Lee Ridenhour struck out seven batters over seven innings and catcher P.J. Torres hit for three parts of the cycle in the win on Friday. Ridenhour began the game impressively – retiring Iowa in order in the first. Nashville Predators send forward Brian McGrattan to MilwaukeeNashville, TN – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has assigned forward Brian McGrattan to Milwaukee (AHL) on a two-week conditioning assignment. McGrattan remains on Nashville’s active roster during the conditioning stint. McGrattan, 31 (9/2/81), has appeared in two games for the Predators in 2012-13. A season ago, he was claimed on waivers from Anaheim on Oct. 11, 2011 and played 30 games, notched two assists and recording 61 penalty minutes. SIU Edwardsville has lost two of three in February after ending January on a three-game winning streak.
