Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators pitched a “shut-out” against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings in front of a sold out crowd at Bridgestone Arena. Predators goalie Pekka Rinne stopped all 32 shots he faced and Colin Wilson scored two goals for the Predators as they earned their first home ice victory of the season, 3-0.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans hired Gregg Williams as Senior Assistant/Defense.
The NFL informed Williams that he has been reinstated today and provided the following statement for release:
“Commissioner Roger Goodell today notified Gregg Williams and the Tennessee Titans that Williams’ contract with the Titans has been approved and that he has been reinstated. The commissioner cited several reasons for the reinstatement, including Williams’ forthcoming acknowledgement of and acceptance of responsibility for his role in the bounty program at the Saints, his commitment to never again be involved in a pay-for-performance or bounty system, and his pledge to teach safe play and respect for the rules at all levels of the game. Clarksville, TN – It will be a busy weekend for the Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team. The Govs have two matches waiting for them.
First stop Chattanooga, for a 6:00pm match, then they return home for a Saturday battle with Abilene Christian at 1:00pm.

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team will be on the road this weekend, traveling to Chattanooga for a Friday match at 6:00pm, then going north to Evansville for a Saturday match at 7:00pm.

Knoxville TN – The Tennessee Lady Vols travel to Baton Rouge on Thursday night to play LSU which is coached by former Tennessee player and assistant coach, Nikki Caldwell. The game has special meaning to Tennessee head coach, Holly Warlick.
While the two coaches battled last season for the SEC Tournament championship in Nashville, which Tennessee won 70-58, Warlick and Caldwell join forces in the offseason to help others through their Champions For A Cause Foundation.

Clarksville, TN – Despite the program being without a head coach, Austin Peay State University signed 12 players, Wednesday, to National Letters of Intent on the first day of signing for 2013.
“I believe this is one of the finest recruiting classes we had since I have been here,” APSU interim coach Granville Eastman said. “We addressed needs and added some real quality depth to this program.”
