        APSU Athlete of the week is Men’s Tennis’ Jasmin Ademovic

        Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Junior Jasmin Ademovic, of the Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

        Ademovic opened the spring season with a victory in No. 2 singles against Samford’s Elliott Barnwell (2-6, 6-4, 6-1), Saturday, at the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavilion. He continues to impress in the second spot, moving to 12-3 all-time at No. 2 singles.

        In doubles action, the 2012 first-team all-conference player teamed with senior Sean Bailey to dispatch Zac Dunkle and Alex Sajonz (8-6) in No. 1 doubles.

        The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.

        Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included

        • Junior Leslie Martinez, of the women’s basketball team, averaged 15.5 points, six assists and five rebounds last week. She led the Lady Govs with 18 points – including 16 in the second half – and seven assists in Austin Peay’s first Ohio Valley Conference victory this season at Jacksonville State, Monday.
        • Freshman Chris Horton, of the men’s basketball team, averaged 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks last week for the Govs. He exploded for 18 points and 10 rebounds at Jacksonville State, Thursday, for his fourth career double-double and his first since December 8th, 2012 at Memphis. He earned OVC Freshman of the Week for his performance, his season’s sixth weekly honor from the conference. He’s the first six-time winner since Marquis Weddle (UT Martin) and Gerald Robinson Jr. (Tennessee State) during the 2007-08 season.
