CLARKSVILLE – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team has added its second Clarksville-area product with Cayce Bredlau signing a National Letter of Intent.

Bredlau, a 5-10, 180-pound outfielder, has prepped at Northwest High School where he has been a three-sport athlete. On the diamond, he batted .358 as a junior with 16 doubles and 23 RBI. He was named to the All-District 10AAA squad for a second consecutive season.

“Cayce is a young man who is extremely disciplined on and off the field and he really fits the mold of the type player we want in our program,” said Governors head coach Gary McClure. “Cayce is a blue-collar baseball player that plays the game the right way every day. You know exactly what you’re going to get out of him. He can really run, takes tremendous routes in the outfield and will make consistent contact at the plate. He’s another Clarksville native that has the ability and makeup it takes to jump right in and help our club immediately. ”

Bredlau enjoyed a stellar sophomore campaign that saw him ranked among the state’s top 10 with a .535 batting average while also belting seven home runs and 23 RBI. He was an All-Region 5AAA and All-District 10AAA selection as a sophomore and was named to the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association’s Super Sophomore team.
