Clarksville High has added yet another win to its season Tuesday night by claiming the Regional 5-AAA Semifinal by shutting out Beech High School 3-0 at Clarksville High School.’s Hilda J. Richardson Field.

The victory moves the Lady Wildcats to 18-4, while Beech High School falls to 13-7-2.

Clarksville’s win moved them forward in the Class AAA playoffs. They will play the winner of 9-AAA champ Hendersonville County (12-2-3) in the Region 5-AAA title match at Clarksville High on Thursday at 7p.m.

Clarksville High, winner’s of its first 10-AAA title in five years, would also host the Sectional match on Saturday at 7 p.m. if it wins.

Salera Jordan knocked in the game’s first goal near the 16th minute in the first half.

Autumn Copeland added the second score around the 47th minute.

Ella Baggett added the final sinker around the 75th minute.

Clarksville High kept up the pressure in the first half until Salera Jordan broke the ice and got past Beech’s goalkeeper Caroline Robinson.  Robinson had eight solid saves in the game.

The Lady Wildcats’ defense played well under pressure and Clarksville’s freshman goalkeeper Melia Correa saw little action tonight with only 5 saves tonight.

Clarksville’s midfielders played another solid game. After dominating play in the district win against the Lady Patriots, the Lady Wildcats’ midfield stopped Beech forwards from advancing into Clarksville territory. The Lady Wildcats dominated possession time.

Sixteen minutes into the first half, CHS Junior Chrystal Hetland assisted  Jordan in the game’s first goal after maneuvering past multiple Lady Buccaneers defenders. Jordan got off a solid kick that landed safely in the back of the net.

Copeland goal in the 47th minute in the game came when she broke free down the middle of the field, and her powerful kick went through 2 Beech High defenders and past the goalkeeper in the net.

Jordan made a great pass to sophomore Baggett, who kicked in a goal to push the lead to 3-0. With only 15 minutes left in the game, Clarksville High stood their ground and finished strong.
